Vivian was born from a conversationthat couldn't happen.
The origin
Meet Ana
Ana wants to earn a university degree. She's smart, curious and determined. But most classrooms and everyday conversations aren't designed for someone who communicates in Mexican Sign Language. It's not that Ana can't — it's that the world doesn't listen.
When Haniel understood that gap, he looked for existing solutions. He found none. Not for MSL, not with the quality needed. So he decided to build one — a system designed from the ground up for Mexican Sign Language, with an avatar that translates Spanish into signs in real time.
Our difference
What makes us different?
Ana is not a "beneficiary"
She's a core collaborator on the product. Her motion-capture recordings are the avatar's corpus. Every sign Vivian makes exists because Ana taught it first.
Built for MSL
It's not an adaptation of ASL or a generic translator. Every animation, gesture and facial expression is built specifically for Mexican Sign Language.
With the community, not for it
The Deaf community isn't the passive recipient of Vivian — it's the source. The product is co-designed with the people who will use it.
